My first project from Ravelry

A friend of mine told me about a site called Ravelry that is full of knit and crochet patterns. They have patterns for scarves, gloves, afghans, clothing, and so on. Ravelry is free to join and they have free patterns and ones you can buy. Once you get on the site you can specialize your search. I went for photo's (I have to see a picture before I can make something), crochet and free (I'm broke!) and then picked Fingerless. There are several free patterns. Some of the patterns are really plain and then there are some elegant fingerless gloves on there too.
Check it out!

I made these fingerless gloves while watching tv the other night. They are just single crochets and really easy. (as long as you use markers!) You can make them with or without the thumb and in acrylic or wool. I have several people requesting a pair of these gloves I think these will be gettting made up for Christmas gifts!

Enjoy!

I'm right there with you on wanting it free. I've been so close to buying patterns before only to find it for free on other sites. And a big YES on it must have a picture. I don't want to put all the time into something I don't know what it looks like.

I'll have to go check out the site. Thanks for sharing!

Fun gloves BTW. They would be great for road trips from Texas to Minnesota at Christmas time when I'm wanting to craft on the road. Ugh... I only like the looks of snow, not the freeze your tail off aspect too. =D

I LOVE Ravelry!! I also search by picture. I have to see what it will look like before I even think about making something.

Your fingerless mitts look great. I love using variegated yarn for the look without the effort.

Just beautiful! The colors remind me of the ocean or a lake.
